My Tisha B'Av Journey

My Journey throughout the 3 weeks and 9 days leading up to Tisha B'Av

Hello everyone, well, Tisha B'Av is almost here. Every year I go through a journey of my own. When the fast of Tammuz starts it all there are things I give up for the whole three weeks and then when the 9 days comes along I may add more. Well, I am happy to say that my journey is almost here. It is a very hard time for me and I am sure it is for all of you doing your own journey right now. What has helped me through my journey this year is that we finally moved after 17 years in a place that no longer felt like home to a place that really does and is better for us. Also, we have a merpeset (porch) now, so, can sit on it a lot. If my chair could talk it would tell you that I spent a lot of time on it and not only for the 3 weeks, but, for the summer as well I will be sitting on it.

I made it this far and after the fast is over and a day later I will have completed what I call my cleansing so I can start new all over again.

On Yom Kippur we fast to atone for our sins and for me on Tisha B'Av I fast to cleanse my soul so can start fresh afterwards.
