Hannuka 2017

Hello everyone,
My blog today is on Hannuaka. Hannuaka is celebrated usually in December and lasts for 8 days. Yesterday night it started and the first candle was lit. Today is the first day and I wish all the Jews a Happy Hannuka.
While I was growing up in Minneapolis I was not religious. My parents kept a kosher home and ate kosher outside of the home too. We did Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Hannuka and Pesach. My mother cleaned and changed the dishes and we had a seder. Nothing else was celebrated in my Home. While I was growing up my grandfather was religious so we went to his Synagogue and women upstairs and men down.
Now, that I live in Israel all the Jewish holidays are celebrated here. I have become more observant. I say it that way because I am not always good but do the best I can.
I love demonstrating the dreidls and it is like my childhood all over again. I love to show them to my cat and she has a good time following what they do.
As a matter of fact I will show you a picture of her now chasing a dreidl or sevivon they are called in Hebrew.
I thought I had a picture of her chasing the sevivon, but, I cannot find it.
I do have a picture of a Hannukia I would to put here:

This is one of them they put up all over the city to light. This one in the square across from the Jerusalem bus station. You see the train in the background.
Last but not least I have a link to Hannuka music for you to listen too:

I hope you enjoy the hag!!!!!!!!!!
