David would like you to know the following about why he wrote this song:

I wrote this song in 1982 to express our sadness at leaving Sinai and Yamit but at the same time it expresses our hopes for peace through our sacrifice. Through the moving lyrics and the beautiful video produced by Yaacov Goldman we see the beauty and majesty of the Sinai desert and its historic links to our People's past. This song is very timely since this year we are exactly 30 years since our departure from Sinai.
