Making a special lane in Israel for the ambulances to get through

Hi,
Since I live in Israel I will be talking about here and nowhere else regarding the ambulances.
I was walking home yesterday from grocery shopping and errands and heard and saw the ambulance with its blinking lights trying to get through so much traffic to get to its destination.
Right then and there I thought why don't they have a special lane for abulances only. There was so much traffic and no room for anyone to pull over for them to get through.
If any of you out there needed an ambulance to come to you to save your life and get you to the hospital wouldn't you want them to have their own lane so they are not stuck in regular traffic. This way they could make good timing and get you safely to the hospital.
