Hi everyone,
I just back today to share my moving experience with you. My little cat and I moved last week from a place we lived in for 17 years to another place better for us. I wanted to move before that, but, due to circumstances we were unable to. So, we finally hopefully were able to now. It is an area I spend lots of time with.
It was quite an experience. It is an experience I can do without. The movers came at 8:45 or closer to 9 am. One came in and said he needed coffee before he could start. I do not drink coffee and just wanted to move. It took all day to move. They took a 45 minute lunch break and again the guy came into the new place forgetting we just moved in wanting coffee and went to my new neighbors asking. He told me that where they went to eat there was nothing to drink. My thinking is is that they brown baged and didn't bring anything to eat. We finally finished with them. The cable guy came the next day to install our cable in our TV. I thought he would just do something to the box. No, he had to put a wire all the way around. It looks fine. He was not very nice. He complained about the boxes. We moved from a big apt to a much smaller one so had to throw things out. It looks like a cyclone hit it. I had to help him and then he left and later on the furniture people came and right when they got in they complained about no place to work and to get rid of my cat. She was sleeping on the bed and they had to turn the bed. I was very overwhelmed and didn't need that. It has been a hard move and people that are not nice. I told him he has no manners and he told me I don't. He comes into my home and treats us like that. I beg to differ with him. I took my cat in another room and we sat and I talked to her and then they finally left. I thought we do not need any more nasty people here. I solved some problems for our Sabbath inorder to light candles to bring in our Sabbath.
Our Sabbath or Shabbat we call it was not bad until the night. I think our neighbors across the way came home last night and made lots of noise.
Tonight I will use our white noise machine to drown out noise. Still need to get things and see how much I can put things in emptier boxes and throw more boxes. My handyman is coming to fix things around here and then hopefully can get rid of more boxes. I will have to see what else need to get. I believe once it is fixed up it will look nice and homey for Mitzi and I.
Moving is very expensive.
I would like to hear other people's stories on moving both good and bad.
