A Jew

Hello everyone I would like to discuss a topic that is near and dear to me, my heritage. What is a Jew? Who is a Jew? What does a Jew look like?
Recently I read about an African American girl aged 19 is pro Israel. She speaks on our behalf. Yes, I am Jew. I am a full blooded Jew. What does that mean? My grandparents and their parents and my parents were both Jews, so, therefore, I am a full blooded Jew.
This girl speaks on my country and my people's behalf so that the world can know about us. I truly appreciate her and what she does and hopefully she can sway people's minds, but, I truly believe that the only people that can make our case are our own people. After all who knows more about Judaism and Israel's history than our own people. So, why aren't we getting the word out or recognition to let the world know who and what we are? I am a very proud Jew and live in our Jewish Homeland. I grew a very rebellious person. I was always Jewish, but, did not always behave in a manner fitting to our heritage. I was not religious and my parents only kept a kosher home. Therefore my mother could not eat at her brother or sisters homes because they did not keep kosher. We went to the Synagogue on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, but, otherwise where was Judaism in our home. My grandfather said when he retired from his grocery business he would become religious and by george he did. We used to go to his Synagogue where the women sat upstairs looking down on the men. I used to run so I could keep up with my grandfather. He was a very important part of my life and I loved being with him. He lived by my Junior High School so after school I would go to his house and hang out with him. Sorry, getting away from the subject. I think something is missing in the way we get ourselves across to people that an African American young woman has to do our fighting for us. Come on people what is missing here? Why can't we get who we are out to the rest of the world? Do we even want to? Maybe we want to be alone in the world. I mean we are the only ones that know how important it is for us to have our own country after all we have been through and are still going through. People still blame us for everything that goes wrong in the world and their own problems. They think we are their scapegoats. Well, we aren't. And to answer your question who is a Jew - A Jew according to our beliefs is someone born to a Jewish mother. Doesn't matter if the father is Jewish or not, but, would be nice if he were. So, there are many kinds of Jews in the world. Before you judge us look us up or ask a Jew what we are all about, don't ask those that are not Jewish because they really cannot feel what we feel on the inside and out and how we have struggled and survived all these years. Yes, folks no matter how you want to get rid of us or destroy us we survive because we have something powerful that our enemies don't have. We have a G-d that looks out for us. I want you to remember something here that we are human beings like yourself out there and next time you want to say something derogatory about us or blame us think before you act and also think of how you would feel if someone said something not so nice about you.
