Hello all,
I am back with a blog for you.
Well, for those that know we just had our holidest day of the year that started out on Friday night and Saturday night. We fast from sundown till sundown. Here in Israel we did not end daylight savings time so had a very hot and long day to fast.
But, what I want to talk about is before the fast even started or before Yom Kippur even started I want to share some of the things that happened to me.
After I went grocery shopping on Wednesday I had more than could handle in my cart. I wanted to get my cat her sand for her litter box so got it along with my groceries. I had to stop by one of my stores I like to go to called Stock (yes please remember it and it is located on Konfei Nesharim in Givat Shaul, just a plug for them) and to check out what they had for a holiday coming up called Sukkot that I absolutely love. I will go into that after my before Yom Kippur stuff.
Well when I was leaving the store I got stuck and knocked over something and hurt my hand and tried to fix it and someone else tried to help me. One of the guys came to see if I was alright and pantimined about my hand. I then went home and up all of our I think 34 steps to our home and my lower back hurt. It was a bit too much. Went to the doctor on Thursday and it turned out that my virus never went away. I also burned my right foot with hot water trying to put it away in the refrigerator. I haven't gotten to the good part yet. Ok, so wasn't feeling well and had a foot that I have to take care of that limps and a burn part on that same foot and then thinking of fasting. The doctor said to do teaspoons of water and not to eat. I did the teaspoons and not many, but, when woke up this morning (Sunday) I drank.
Well, here is the fun part: my handyman is really great and he worked hard to make a very special succa for us for the holiday of Sukkot. He did a fabulous job and I love it so so much. He is very good and has done good things for me as long as I have known him. He is very professional and very funny and fun to talk to. (Now, this is a plug for my handyman). Well, Friday I wanted to decorate it and take a picture of it and put it on a blog. Well, I was so excited. I was wearing crocs and apparently the guy washed the hallway floors and I didn't know it and down I went. Don't worry, my camera was fine, but, I wasn't. I was wondering why is all this happening so close to Yom Kippur, but, since you read this I made it through Yom Kippur. Maybe G-d thinks I am quite funny and wants me around. I don't find all these things happening funny at all. They are very painful. Well, after I fell or slid I was moaning or something and my neighbor that lives down below came out to help me. I felt so bad after he washed the stairs I left blood. I wanted to clean it up, but, she did it. She brought me in and I washed it off and she gave me bandages. She is very sweet and then I went upstairs and washed more and put the bandaids on. If you were wondering if I got the picture at all and are sitting and waiting at the end of your chair. Please do not fall off and hurt yourselves. Yes, I did get the picture. I was working on the computer later on and blood came down. I lost alot of blood and then I had more blood on something I put on yesterday. I said I am going to lock us in the apt and not leave until after Yom Kippur and I did just that. Don't worry I prayed at home.
So, now Yom Kippur is over and hopefully I will heal and mend and can truly enjoy Sukkot and our first succa ever.
Here is a picture of our succa( after all I went through to get it how would I not send you a picture):
